Frequently Asked Questions
What ages do you provide speech therapy for?
I strongly believe in early intervention, so I do not have a lower age limit for starting therapy. Mostly, I see children age 2 up to young people age 18.
What if my child already sees an NHS speech therapist?
I am happy to work alongside and collaboratively with NHS professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for your child.
Why private speech therapy?
The benefits of private speech and language therapy include shorter or no waitlists for support and the ability for the therapist to provide more regular sessions. A private speech therapist can work around your availability and provide highly individualised care.
Where will appointments take place?
I can see children either at home, school or nursery.
How many sessions will my child need?
This will vary depending on your child’s needs. I like to review therapy goals every 6-8 weeks. Some families do well with a shorter block and then continued work to do at home, with a review shortly after. Other families require more consistent, longer term support. We can discuss this after initial assessment and an open narrative about progress will always be kept.
